Open Operational State
A vendor-neutral specification and tooling ecosystem for machine-readable operational health and status of web services. Includes schema definitions, conformance tooling, validators, interoperability guidance, CLI tooling, and reference implementations.
Problem
Modern services expose operational health information inconsistently across status pages, APIs, monitoring systems, and infrastructure tooling. Existing approaches are primarily human-readable and lack a standardized interoperability model for machine-readable operational state.
Solution
Designed a vendor-neutral operational state specification with supporting schema definitions, validation tooling, conformance models, interoperability guidance, and reference implementations. Built an accompanying tooling ecosystem including validators, CLI utilities, fixtures, and automated conformance workflows.
Role
Principal architect and specification author
